This is me pretending to write a real post. The Save Now button is getting longer with every keystroke I make. It's kind of creepy... Anyway, sorry I haven't updated in a while. The whole class plus work thing meant blogging got put on the backburner. But here are 52 "confessions," courtesy of Angela. I wonder why 52? Maybe I could elaborate on one per week, so that I'd have blog posts for the next year. Maybe I won't, though, since my confessions are hardly that interesting... ^_^
1. The phone rings. Who do you want it to be?
Uh... a friend? Peter? Jeni? Joyce? Bueller?
2. When shopping at the grocery store, do you return your cart?
Yes. Carts scattered around the parking lot annoy me.
3. In a social setting, are you more of a talker or a listener?
It depends on who I'm with. If I'm around people who are more "talker" than me, then I listen. If I'm the most "talker," then I talk. It's actually quite practical.
4. Do you take compliments well?
Yes, and I have Russ to thank for that.
5. Do you play Sudoku?
No. It's one of those things that I kind of see as an all or nothing deal, like following sports, so I just don't even bother to try.
6. If abandoned alone in the wilderness, would you survive?
If you mean can I sit still for two days while a Search and Rescue team finds me, then yes. If you mean can I build myself a hut and settle in for a hard winter, then no.
7. Do you like nipple rings?
Not particularly. I guess I just don't get them. Wouldn't they be uncomfortable under a bra for women?
8. Did you ever go to camp as a kid?
I went to day camp and band camp. I really liked the day camp at John Walter Museum. We would make soap and candles and ice cream and all kinds of neat stuff. I can still do most of that, but I still wouldn't survive in the wilderness.
9. What was your favorite game as a kid?
I played a lot of House with Jenilee. She told me what to say most of the time.
10. Could you date someone with different religious beliefs than you?
I get along fine with many Christians. I don't know if I could date someone who actually practiced a religion, as opposed to just believing in God, though. If only because, if we were to get married, they'd be making an oath under God and I wouldn't, and that seems to be an unfair balance, and I'd feel bad.
11. Do you like to pursue or be pursued?
Be persued. If I persue, I worry that I'm scaring the other person by being around too much. *rolls eyes at self*
12. Any songs make you cry?
Plenty of songs made me cry when I was 11-14. Ace of Bass, Oasis... Man, that was a while ago.
13. Are you still in school?
Yep. one year of University left before I get a piece of paper saying that I can teach.
14. Do you know how to shoot a gun?
No. Nor do I know how to hold one, load one, clean one or kick one out of somebody's hands.
15. If your house was on fire, what would be the first thing you grabbed?
Assuming my dog could follow me out, I'd grab my laptop.
16. How often do you read books?
When I have to. I'm not a big fan of reading books. I prefer text on screens. I can never find decent lighting to read books, and it always seems to make my neck sore.
17. Do you think more about the past, present or future?
I have no idea. I'd almost like to say that I think in an abstract way, with the past, present and future in relation to eachother. This makes no sense, I know. It's kind of weird for me, too. It makes me bump into stuff a lot.
18. Favorite children's book?
The Neverending Story. Totally my favourite book. The movies are all right, but the book is, of course, better.
19. What color are your eyes?
Blue. I like them best when they're a velvety kind of dark blue.
20. How tall are you?
Five foot eight, about.
21. Have you ever taken pictures in a photo booth?
Once. It was a sticker photo booth at a store in Southgate that is no longer there that sold Anime and Manga merchandise. I bought soooo many Sailor Moon cards there.
22. When was the last time you were at Olive Garden?
A long time ago. I'm not a big fan, personally.
23. Where was the furthest place you traveled today?
West Edmonton Mall. Shopping makes me happy. ^_^
24. Do you like mustard?
Yes. I didn't used to, as a kid, but a really good corndog at the Exhibition changed my opinion for the better.
25. Do you prefer to sleep or eat?
Man, this is a hard one. Forget the sex or chocolate question, put this on personality quizes. I'd probably go for sleep, though. Food makes you tired if you eat too much, and if you're eating instead of sleeping, then you have no opportunity to make yourself un-tired.
26. Do you look like your mom or dad?
Both. According to my mom, when I was born, my grandmother said that there was no way my dad could deny that I was his kid.
27. How long does it take you in the shower?
About 10 minutes, on average.
28. Can you do splits?
No, and I've never been able to. When I was a kid, I took dance lessons, and we did the splits as part of our warm-up, and I could never manage to do them fully.
29. What movie do you want to see right now?
Ratatouille. ^_^
30. What did you do for New Year's?
My parents hosted a party, and Jenilee and Peter came, too. It was actually a rather good time.
31. Do you think The Grudge was scary?
I only ever saw the commercials, and I didn't think those were scary.
32. Do you own a camera phone?
No. When I got my cell phone two and a half years ago, my mom forbade me from getting a camera phone because she thought the were ridiculous and unnecessary. I don't know that you can get a cell phone that doesn't have a camera in it these days, though, so, come October, I probably will have a camera phone.
33. Was your mom a cheerleader?
The only thing my mom has ever done that *might* count as a cheerleader was dress up as a corporate wife for Hallowe'en one year. She made a flag-type sign with cheers about lawyers on it and wore a sweatshirt with the logo of my dad's lawfirm on it and did a little dance.
34. What's the last letter of your middle name?
N. How is that a confession?
35. How many hours of sleep do you get a night?
7 or so. Enough, but not so much that I feel I get enough.
36. Do you like care bears?
Yes. They are cute, and they were a large part of my childhood. When I was 4 years old, I wanted to be a hero when I grew up, like Braveheart Lion. ^_^
37. What do you buy at the movies?
Tickets... If I get food, I'll usually get something gummy or something with caramel.
38. Do you know how to play poker?
I learned how to play five card stud on the schoolbus in elementary school, and I know the basics of Texas Hold'em, but I have no idea how the whole betting system works. I can play non-gambling poker.
39.Do you wear your seatbelt?
When I'm in a car, I'm almost always wearing my seatbelt. There are very few times when I don't, and they're for stupid reasons, so I should stop it.
40. What do you wear to sleep?
Bottoms and a top that could be considered pajamas. Right now I'm ready for bed, and I'm wearing a pair of plaid flannel pajama bottoms and a regular t-shirt.
41. Is your tongue pierced?
No. That one seems a little too painful for me, since I don't particularly care whether my tongue is pierced.
42. Do you like Liver and Onions?
I've eaten it, but, no, not really.
43. Are you in love?
Yeah. :-)
44. Do you like funny or serious people better?
It depends on how I know them. As friends, I like both. At work, I don't particularly care for somebody who's always goofing around.
45. Ever been to L.A.?
Maybe. I've been to Anaheim, and I may have passed through Los Angeles on my way to or from there. I was 10, so I don't really remember.
46. Do you steal or pay for your music downloads?
The only music I pay for is the stuff I buy on CD. Then again, I currently don't have any filesharing software on my computer, so I haven't been doing any downloading at all, really.
47. What do you and your parents fight about the most?
Control. I'm much to independant for my mother's taste.
48. Are you a gullible person?
Not really. I could tell when my students were lying to me. Sometimes I let them get away with it because it made life simpler, though.
49. Do you need a boyfriend/girlfriend to be happy?
I've been happily single for most of my life, so I'd say no. But I'm also happily not single right now, so it's good either way.
50. If you could have any job (assuming you had the skills) what would it be?
Ooh, there are lots. I'd want to be a stunt driver, a producer in the music industry, a manager of some type, an actor, a writer... Is it odd that stunt driver and manager are the two professions on that list that I'm furthest from?
51. Are you easy to get along with?
Fairly, I'd say. I don't tend to antagonize people to their face, and I don't dislike many people. It is possible that I may be difficult to get along with if other's don't like *me*, though.
52. What is your favorite time of day?
Evening, probably. Maybe morning. Not late afternoon. I tend to want to sleep then.
And that is all for tonight. :-)
