Plus, you get to make up your own law, and it gives you a list of the last ten made when you complete the quiz. Two of them were about banning women with pants/underwear issues, and one was from a guy named ds from Edmonton that said that copyright infringement should be punishable by death, and I can't help but think that that's Dan Schnee having a bit of fun... ^_^ You are a Social Liberal (75% permissive) and an... Link Attempt
Yes, yes, I know. Two posts in one day, yada...
So I wound up watching most of the CSI finale--there was enough of that casino cinema stuff going on that I was able to take a shower and not miss much--but I had to stop watching just as the ants came in and started biting him. I know he's all right and whatnot, but that was just creepy...
Anyway, I'm writing this post half because I'm bored and, surprisingly, don't feel like sleeping, and half because I want to test out putting a link into one of my posts. Blogger is making it totally unnecessary to learn html, for which I thank them, so this shouldn't be too hard.
As I'm sure you know, there are ten million things you can buy in support of breast cancer research during October. This year, I discovered an ad for a pink frying pan. Ever since my mom got sick, I've noticed these things more than I used to, and I've noticed that Clinique always has something nice. The pink theme works a lot better with make-up than with, say, frying pans. Anyway, this year they've got a wicked face powder thing for sale in support of breast cancer awareness month and breast cancer research. I *heart* Clinique because their stuff is hypo-allergenic and I have sensitive skin, as I've discovered the hard way, but this blush-ish stuff is just really fun-looking. I will be buying one the next time I'm at the mall, and I'd like to encourage you to do the same. Or, buy the frying pan and cook breakfast. That'd be good, too. Mmm... pancakes and bacon served in bed... ^_^
ETA: It worked! And on the first try! Except that I got the link wrong the first time... ^_^

No Hard Work Today
So it's Tuesday and I'm watching what I think is CSI's last season finale. Nick get kidnapped. Part one of two. It kinda of demands to be watched.
I totally slept in today. I got little enough sleep Sunday night that when I woke up for my 8am Percussion Tech class, I just rolled over. My mom came in before she left for work and said she was jealous. I wish she hadn't woken me up.
Later, I rushed out of Wind Ensemble to get to my Stagecraft course ontime. When I got there, I remembered it was moved from Tory 1-119 to Tory 3-65. Tory 3-65, however, was empty. I was confused. Over the next half hour, I checked all over the place, even FAB 3-65, which turned out to be my conducting prof's office. I knew that the next module of the class would be in the Media Room in FAB, but I thought that didn't start until next class. i did try the Media Room today, though, and it was locked. I eventually gave up and when to the louge to wait for Peter, who said he would show when my class would have been over if I could have found it, and as we left to go to Earls, I ran into people from my class. It was indeed in the Media Room. I'm still not sure how I was supposed to get in, but apparently I missed a lot. I was not impressed.
But I went to Earls and had a chicken quesidilla and a lime blended margarita, which make me feel better. ^_^
On my way home, I called Joyce up and got her to come with me to Michaels, but I didn't tell her why. See, in high school, Joyce had this headband that had cat ears on it, but I had it for some reason, and I broke the band. I felt really bad, and so when I was at Michaels getting the pictures she brought me back from Italy framed and noticed their extensive collection of such headbands for Hallowe'en, I knew I had to get her one. The only problem was that I couldn't choose, hence getting her to come with me. She chose one that was kinda furry. Also, she told me she'd forgotten about her old headband. I felt kinda stupid, but no longer guilty. ^_^
Hey, the kid from Kitchen Confidential is in the movie "Waiting." A little type-cast, maybe?
Anyway, it's Tuesday, so I'm gonna give up on CSI (it's being shown in very small segments amidst this casino-themed thing with this actor) and go change into something comfy and build myself a little "nest" of blankets so I can watch Gilmore Girls and House. ^_^ It's the mobster rerun of House, which I haven't seen, but Peter's told me about, and it sounds fun.

Vowel!
Finished with the Streetcar project. It's handed in and I don't want to hear another word about that play for at least the next month. The next project's coming up, though, and it's the same thing, except with a play that we don't study as a class. I think I'm going to have to do a scene from Rosencrantz and Gildenstern are Dead, but I'm not certain. We're supposed to stay 20th century, so I'm not sure what else to do without a list of reccomendations. I was thinking of maybe doing the opening scene of Death of a Salesman, but there aren't enough guys in my class for me to rope one into it, so I decided to work with my partner from Streetcar and this guy named Lester, who wants to do the R+G scene. We'll see how this all works out. I couldn't stick around after class to find out because I had to get to lesson. Oh, well, I'll find out Wednesday, or possibly in Stagecraft tomorrow.
Not much else happened today. Lesson was all right. We spent a lot of time on basics, and it went well enough that I didn't care that we didn't really work on any rep. Well, we were going to spend 15 minutes on one of the Arban's characteristic study I'd looked at, but I had to leave ten minutes early, so it was cut down to five.
My diabetic father bought two bags of pecan buns for his family of three. He does that every now and then. I think he's nuts and is going to kill us all, but I also think I'm going to go get another.

I'd Like it to Stay Sunday, Please
At Peter's. He's doing an "instance" with a group of Lurker Lounge people in WOW. Dave was playing Windwaker, but got frustrated after being captured a few too many times. I was reading Ali's blog.
My friend Ali, who I went to highschool with, keeps a blog that I don't link to from here, because it's rather depressing, and her parents are musician-type people and I'm not sure it's appropriate to broadcast her opinions of them to my music student friends. But mostly because it's depressing. And I worry about her, and Joyce worries about her, and then I worry more, and it's not good. *sigh* I wish I could win the lottery and give Ali money so that she could pay for her education and some medication she seems to desperately need.
Air Bud: Seventh Inning Fetch. Does that seem wrong to anybody else?? Oh, God, I just checked IMDb, and that's the fourth Air Bud movie of five! Five!!!! Whoever's in charge of Disney these days needs to to be killed along with all of his offspring to purge the world of such horrors.
Ugh, I need to get some work done today. The written portion of my Streetcar assignment is due tomorrow at 9 am. This will cut a large amount of time out of my prep for tomorrow's lesson, which is right after my class this week because Russ has some Symphony thing in the afternoon. Maybe I'll get to school at some ridiculously early hour tomorrow and go through my stuff. It won't be so bad, though. I have to end my lesson about ten minutes early, anyway, since I had to book a doctor's appointment for noon because I booked it on Friday, and it had to be tomorrow, so there wasn't really a lot of choice of times left. It's only at the U of A hospital, though, so it won't be cutting it too close. Stupid doctor's appointments... I hate those.
Saw Serenity on Firday. It rocked!!!!! I may just have to rent the series and watch it. Is it twisted that I kinda like the idea of the Reevers? Not in the sense that I like what they do, but just in the sense that I think they make interesting bad guys. I also rented the Family Guy moive. I guess the rumour mill from a couple of years ago was wrong--the movie wasn't about Stewie being gay. There was a lot of hinting in the movie that that was where they were going, though, so I'm not discounting the possibility. Loved the Ferris Bueller (sp?) bit, though. I've gotta see that movie again.
Anyway, procrastination over. Time to actually get down to work.

Friday Lunch
I'm taking the lunch hour to myself. There was something weird going on with my alarm clock, so I woke up at 8:50, when I was supposed to present my Streetcar scene during my 9:00 class, and I was supposed to meet my partner at 8:15 to over our lines. I was in class half an hour after waking up, though, which floored me, and was only 20 minutes late for a 2-hour class. Needless to say, though, that I didn't get breakfast, except a bit of a cake that one of the groups had brought to do Blanche's birthday scene. Our presentation went well, though, and on my way back home (I had to change out of my dress), I bought myself a caramel light frappucino from Starbucks, into which I put a 20ml double shot of espresso set to strong. My machine's weird like that... It was sooo good, though. And now I'm munching on what would ba a fritatta if it were more cohesive. Three eggs, bacone bits, cheddar cheese, and some bruschetta from Sunterra, which has onions and lots of garlic in it. Needless to say, I'm enjoying it immensely. Now I have 45 minutes before I have to be ack on campus, and I'm gonna spend about 25 of them relaxing.
Dave and his, uh, crew are going to go see Serenity tonight, and Peter and I are tagging along. I've never seen any of Firefly, though, but it looks like a good movie, regardless. My parents get back from Lake Louise tomorrow. Hopefully they'll give me some money--I am so broke. They're going to be out of town a lot in the next while. Next weekend is Banff, and sometime in October they're takig a 17 day (?) cruise to Hawaii. I wish I could do that. Or, hell, I wish I just had the money to do that, so that I could at least stop having to tighten my belt to make payments towards the one-week trip to Vancouver Peter and I took nearly three months ago. Stupid gas prices... We should've flown.
Looking forward to R&R tonight. I have to do the written part of that Streetcar project this weekend, which I'm only about half done, and I have to do some calculations to time how long my warm-up should theoretically take so that I know how much rest I have to balance it with. Russ's new thing this year is resting as much as you play, and playing for small chunks of less than 30 seconds. I meant to do that last weekend, but, well... Life is what happens while you're making other plans, as they say. At least I'm not a frazzled as Peter. He has to put together a preliminary bibliography for a grant application so that he can study Uruguayan history (an under-reasearched topic) for Monday, and then make a presentation on Oliver Cromwell for his Brithish Historiography class on Wednesday. He's a little swamped. I went to see him last night, and as I was pulling up to his house, I realized it'd been a few days since I'd been there, which is uncommon.
Now, with my tummy full, I'm off to face four hours of classes and appointments! The week is going out with a bang!
